Finding the Write time

Currently I am like many authors or creative people. I work a full time job and write when the time is right! I use a multitude of strategies to use the time while not a work to be creative. Here’s a short list of how I make that happen and I’d love to hear what you do to eek out the write time!

  • Use a calendar to look at the month a figure out when there is some free time to capture on the weekends
  • Write during my lunch break (this is really good for editing because it’s focused)
  • Write early morning (that is when this blog post is being written)
  • Be intentional and schedule writing time during the week after work (least favorite because I work on the computer a lot during my work day)
  • Write in a different location than home;
    • coffee shop
    • restaurant
    • library
    • park
    • beach(especially in winter)
  • Create a to do list of the things I need to be doing and schedule this out
    • editing
    • working on a new project
    • participating in NANOWRIMO

Whatever works for you is really the WRITE TIME, because everyone’s lives are different.
